About Michelle Coutu
Michelle Coutu has an extensive community development and case management background working with low-income, under-housed, and homeless populations. Michelle was the Primary Counsellor for Jean Tweed’s “Mom and Kids Too” program for parenting women struggling
with substance use and having child welfare involvement. Michelle then became a Substance Use Consultant based within the Children’s Aid Society of Greater Toronto (CAST). Her innovative work with their Intake and Family Services Department further developed her expertise in child welfare systems and policies and advocacy for families. In addition to delivering and facilitating community-based trainings, Michelle currently is a Substance Use Consultant at Catholic Children’s Aid, she is an Adult Education Instructor at George Brown College and she supports women in a one year transitional housing program that is helping women leave the
