A new research project has been introduced by The Migrant Mother’s Project (MMP) and it is your chance to be apart of it!
The Migrant Mother’s Project (MMP) is based out of the University of Toronto and led by Rupaleem Bhuyan. The MMP explores how immigration policies produce gendered forms of inequality that intersect with violence against women, family separation and poverty.
MMP is launching a new study called ‘Sponsored Spouses Journeys: From There to Here’, which is part of their ongoing research on ‘How Conditional Settlement Impacts Immigrant Women’. The goal of this research study is to explore how conditional status shaped the lives of immigrants and their families, to hear experiences of conditionality from women and its intersection with forms of violence, and to identify strategies for social action to improve access to services and human rights for all immigrants to Canada.
