By Irene Gabinet, M.Ed. Facilitator, Telling Our Stories Workshop Series
Telling Our Stories, a one-of a kind art based professional development workshop series, is an opportunity for front line staff to engage in creative and self-reflection practices and collectively create an art installation to be exhibited at the 2017 Supporting Survivors by Supporting Staff two-day training hosted by WomanACT.
This is a place to share your stories of challenges and fulfilment in providing services and support to women and their children experiencing violence in their lives.
Through visual art-making, movement, writing, music and drama, you will explore and creatively express what motivates, inspires and energizes you to do this incredibly vital work in your community.
Workshops are held once a month between September-November and January-February. There are 5 workshops in total and each workshop is 3 hours in length. The content and process of each workshop is accumulative, therefore a commitment to attending all 5 workshops is essential. Space for the workshop is limited to 15 participants. A brief telephone intake will be conducted with each participant.
