The Province of Ontario is renewing the Social Workers and Social Service Workers Professional Development Fund and investing another $1 million over the next two years.
The Social Workers and Social Service Workers Professional Development Fund was a two year pilot launched in 2015 that provides training in areas such as violence against women (VAW) and support for Aboriginal and Francophone communities. It provides opportunities for social workers and social service workers to further educate themselves with tools to enhance service delivery to vulnerable populations. Yearly, up to $500 per person can be reimbursed for development of activities that will advance the knowledge and skills for a more effective and efficient social service delivery system.
