Today, December 6, is the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women.
This day marks the anniversary of the murder of 14 young women at l'École Polytechnique de Montréal. Today is a day to remember these female victims, and also reflect on the every day reality of violence against women and girls. Their lives ended as an act of gender-based violence and their names, today and everyday, should be remembered.
Let us remember these young women and continue to collaboratively work towards a nation free of gender-based violence.
