Ontario Council of Agencies Serving Immigrants (OCASI) would like to invite you to “Changing Attitudes and Responses to Sexual Violence”. This is a live webinar designed for anyone involved in community engagement and education within immigrant and refugee communities. This includes staff from VAW agencies and community members. It is aimed at helping immigrant and refugee serving agencies use the OCASI graphic novel “Telling Our Stories: Immigrant Women’s Resilience” as a tool for social change.
There are three session dates available for live webinars:
September 19th, 21st, and 25th — 11:00am-12:30pm
During the live webinars, information on the development of the graphic novel will be discussed, as well as a review of the themes of the four stories covered (providing support to survivors, dismantling rape culture, creating consent culture, and negating existing stereotypes and assumptions about sexual violence in immigrant and refugee communities). Group activities and discussion will also take place using the content of the graphic novel.
